As a Fulbright Senior Research Fellow, Stephenie lived with and photographed the lives of Mali's cliff-dwelling Dogon people in West Africa. The reportage resulted in the book, "Dogon; Africa's People of the Cliff" published by Harry N. Abrams in 2000. Text by Walter VanBeck.
